About the WHSFA
As the oldest association of its kind in the United States, the WHSFA sponsors middle and high school interscholastic events in speech, debate and theatre in the state of Wisconsin: "Not to defeat each other, but to pace one another on the road to excellence."

2008 Excellence in Speech Awards Named |

|
The Excellence in Speech Award is given annually to the top 5% scoring schools at the Wisconsin State Speech Festival. These schools demonstrate for all the participating schools how hard work and good coaching pays off. No school wins the Excellence in Speech Award without dedicated coaches and hard working students.

Outstanding Students Score 25, Four Consecutive Years |

|
It is always rewarding every year after the Wisconsin State Speech Festival to congratulate the students who medaled at State. Each student has brought their personal best to the Festival. This year WHSFA had four students receive 25 points for the fourth consecutive year. Interestingly none of these students did it in one category but have scored 25 in a variety of categories. |

2007 State Theatre Festival a Success |

The 2007 State Theatre Festival at U.W. Stevens Point was a success with over 1,700 students participating. This year 48 schools presented their one act plays in front of enthusiastic audiences. Thursday night students and directors were treated to a performance of Marvin’s Room by The Prairie School of Racine and Friday two performances of Anything Goes by Verona Area Schools.

Excellence in Speech 2007 |

{mosimage}Each spring the Wisconsin High School Speech Festival sponsored by the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association awards the top schools with the Excellence in Speech Award. This year there were 4,544 on the campus of the University of Wisconsin Madison competing in 15 speech categories.
