Shauna Wessely of Milton High School received the 2011 Ethel Heise New Coach Award. Shauna is in her fourth year of coaching the Milton High School forensic team and has already doubled its size and the number of gold medals won by the team at State Speech.

One of her team members said in a letter of recommendation: “coach painstakingly helped me at every stage of the process from the initial step of selecting a topic all the way through the practices . . . and other team members had the same experience.”

Shauna participated in WHSFA all four years of her high school experience doing Moments in History. She was also a member of the U.W. Whitewater forensic team for three years. While at Whitewater, she helped as a counselor in the university’s summer high school forensic camp.

Today, Shauna coaches her forensic team, acts as a mentor for new coaches, is Director of the U.W. Whitewater forensic camp and is District 11 Chair for WHSFA.

Congratulations Shauna!
